Web 2.0 to Go!

This wiki represents a work in progress as a group of teachers from Pleasantdale School in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada starting with work on an action research project funded by the Dr. Stirling McDowell Foundation for Research Into Teaching.

The name of the project was Web 2.0 to Go! A study of Technology Integration to Improve Student Engagement in Social Studies

Our question was: Can we increase student engagement with the grades 6-8 social studies curriculum outcomes using web 2.0 tools and technologies.

The results of our research can be found at the following link:

The underlying purpose of our research was to try and motivate teachers to shift from traditional teaching methods to student centered web 2.0 driven learning by showing it will increase curriculum outcomes.

This wikispace remains a work in progress and our purpose remains the same. We can no longer continue to teach in same way we have been for years and certainly not the same way we were taught.
